I am planning to convert my 71 OMI Dobro from a round neck to a square one. I have two parts to this posting.

Part One:

The scale most often used in resonator construction (based on my limited experience) is 25". However my round neck is based on a 24.4" scale.
Question: Does anyone have the dimensions of an early 70's model 60 squareneck? I would like to know the scale along with the fretboard width at the nut and body joint.

Part Two:

I know that screws below the location inserts secure the fretboard to the top. Any suggestions for removing them?

Thank you any information you can give me.
