Post subject:  Air Vents/sound hole in Resonator

I am near the end of designing a tricone resonator and want a unique Vent/Soundhole. I have determined the the planned vent is about 70% of the area of round screens on a single cone resonator. Are there rules or any way to determine what is is about right or any advice on resolving my problem?

Thanks,
RonS

Other than the standard 'smaller = more bass' thing there hasn't been a lot of experimentation with different sound hole sizes on tricones.
I think anything you do will sound good, but I don't know how to estimate the overall tone.
