This is just a curiosity question about how everyone works with their clients during construction. How much input do you allow a client to have after the order is placed and construction begins? Typically I allow the client to pick the specific wood sets and appointment. And keep them posted on a weekly basis of the progress. I actually like the client to be involved fairly intensely as materials are acquired and during construction. I want to please the client so I go out of my way insure I am working the desire of the client, and do all I can to keep them involved in the project. I know some builders that after the specs are set and construction begins don’t have much ongoing contact with the client. To avoid unnecessary delays, so I am just looking for a feel of how everyone deals with their clients during construction, purely for curiosity sake. |

I will usually send a client an email update every week or two, and will include photos of the build progress. I also encourage them to get in touch if they have any questions. Most of mine have been pretty quiet so far. Best, Michael |

I have a client section at my website where each individual client has his/her own home page. From that page I set up an interactive forum for all Q&A as well as build updates and galleries. I post all update images there. I have found that people like to share in there excitement as there guitars are being built, and having there updates online they can do that easily with there buddies at work and such ![]() Also, I allow for unlimited changes up until I actually commit a piece of wood. |

Oh, it's so bad, feel free to pile on the really ugly emoticons. You're being much too gentle. I'm afraid I don't communicate nearly enough with clients. No wonder they're always so jumpy and worried.... SK |
