Many years ago my first wife and I gave to the CCF because they provided the name, photos, location and letters from the child you were to be sponsoring. Well as it turned out after the second year on the program we started receiving duplicates letters and pictures from the child, identical to ones we received the year before. So we did some checking and made a vacation trip to Honduras and while there checked to see if we could meet the child. CCF would not aid us in finding the exact address but with persistence we located the child and his parents. They in formed us that they knew nothing about receiving support from CCF nor had they wrote the letters we showed them.
I have never been sure we meet the right family, The pictures sorta matched but ther was a couple years differance in age. CCF did not help us to determine that in any way. In fact they went out of there way to not to help. We discontinued our support after that. A couple years later the big scandal with CCF faking sponsored children hit the news.
