I understand they are very precise and acurate...Not the fanciest tuners around.

You pulled that off very nicely Lance. Mating the raw mechanical image of the Gilberts with the artistry of your headstock.

Beautiful headstock Lance. How long did you have to wait to get the Gilbert tuners?

Lance-very nice. Looks like genuine pearl knobs. Is that correct?
I'm glad to see he's making tuners for steel strings.

Thanks Guys - Steve- yes they are MOP knobs - Don if I can remember it took a few weeks to get them? I ordered them months in advance though.

Lance,

Is that a Hauser-type v-joint on the back of your headstock? Those are very difficult (at least to me)to build but look really cool. Nice job all around.

Cheers!

John

Very nice neck! Did you finish this neck or did Jimmie? I always struggle with getting a nice smooth finish at the top & bottom of the slots. The sides never seem to be a problem but the top and bottom of the slots seem to be a bit grainy. After buffing the compound seem to collect in the grainy areas and it's a real pain to deal with [for me at least].

Yes Tony did this one --
Its the neck to the LS COCO Om he did the finish for.

Lance,
Do you ever use headstock verneers for your slotheads. If so how do you avoid disturbing mahog. when you use rattail to elongate bottoms of slots?

Some of you have been asking via email what the neck was tinted with - I used Z-Poxy diluted 50/50 with Denatured Alcohol and I wiped it on with a cotton tee shirt.
I love that stuff!
