selling african mahogany shavings on ebay. For decorative arts & crafts projects. (I'd suggest potpouri, or scented pet pillows, etc) Creative. Wonder how much brazillian shavings would go for.... |

Wow, I had a ton of Zebrawood shavings of similar size. Only problem with that stuff is the smell ain't so hot. I looks cool though. Would have been great for craft projects. |

Believe it or not, I have about 60 gallon bags of hickory shavings from when I sawed up a hickory tree. People buy this stuff for cooking when they want a true hickory taste to their BBQ. A friend in the sawmill business tipped me off to it. It seems that the sawdust and shavings are worth more than the boards.

Does it void the warrenty on you laptop if the wine on the keyboard was snorted through your nose rather than spilled directly from a glass? Isn't there some relevant personal injury clause or something?
Heh Waddy, I've resawn 6 B&S sets of zebrawood this last week, and I don't see why people think it smells bad at all. It is slightly acrid, but no more so than a lot of other things. It just doesn't fall in the "boy I want to saw this all day because it smells wonderful" family of woods. |

Years ago I used to sell hand plane and jointer shavings to a local pet store for $1 per pound. In many cases I could recoup about half of what I spent on wood for a project by doing this. On another occasion I re-sawed two large billets of Brazilian rosewood. I swept up all of the shavings and dust that didn't end up in the dust collector and it filled two large garbage bags. Based on what I paid for the wood by weight, those two bags were worth $800 !! I gave them to a local weaver who used it to make dye. She was stoked!! Mark |

It's pretty scary what the value of what ends up on the floor is - even your basic woods, Spruce, Mahogany, etc. Lots-o-waste in our processes. |

What a crock! I sometimes bag up cedar shavings to but under a car seat or in a dresser drawer(put them inside of wife's old pantyhose). This guy on ebay is pushing the limit though! |

Last week there was a dude sellin 3 old torn and tattered skin banjo heads as antiques. "to be displayed or used as wall art". And some dummy was bidding on them. P. T. Barnum was right a sucker is born everyday. |
