My brother has a Tacoma jumbo cutaway, flamed Koa, beautiful guitar! He was changing his 20 month old's diaper on the floor of the master bedroom. Apparently this chore had interupted some jam time because his guitar was lying on the bed while he did his fatherly dootie. (sorry )So anyway, he finished and deposited the package in the adjacent bathroom. About the time he turned to come back into the bedroom, he heard it......ka-brraanngg!!! Rushing in he was literally shocked to find the six strings all a kimball and the neck and body completely separated! By the sounds of it, the glue joint of both the heel and fingerboard broke cleanly. The interesting thing is how he described the neck joint. It seems to be a key or spline bolted to the body with the notch, keyway, or mortise in the neck heel. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I'm glad to say that he's taken it to a local repairman for I'm not ready to take on a repair, yet. He's going to borrow my Martin until his is back home.

Sounds familiar. He's lucky that it wasn't one of those crazy Japanese configs or it wouldn't ever have come out...but then he wouldn't have this problem either...but would probably have a different one (maybe). The clean "break" sounds like it is almost a problem that Tacoma might warrantee.
