Our first UK based Sponsor!

Please welcome Tonewood Supplies!

You may already know Joel Thompson, a regular OLF'er. We are please to have him join us!

Here is a little about Tonewood Suppliers.

Tonewood supplies is a new internet based company specialising in exotic hardwoods for acoustic guitars.

Our Internet site is very new and as such is still under construction hopefully we should have things under control by early 2008.

We are based in the U.K. and as such are mainly geared up for U.K. sales but we are happy to ship items to the states and use a shipping broker to get you the best price we can.

We will be regularly stocking back and side sets in a number of species including Madagascan Rosewood, Malaysian Blackwood,
Cocobolo, Mahogany, and others.
As well as many one off special items such as 150-year-old genuine Cuban mahogany and curly Honduras mahogany back and side sets.

We also have plantation grown small leaf mahogany from java for neck stock that works like good

We will be branching out to electric guitar woods soon but acoustic woods will be our main concern at least for the next six months or so.

Please bear in mind that items will be priced according to the U.K. market so some items may be cheaper and others more expensive depending on availability.

Although we are a new company we are by no means new to guitar making and hope to provide a quality service to luthiers for many years to come.

Congrats Joel!! I've exchanged several emails with Joel and he seems to really have a passion for fine woods and is one of the better informed wood guys. He understands research is a key to understanding wood application. He's also more than the wood seller who goes to the local store, buys a board, cuts it up and becomes a overnight "tone wood seller".

Joel, I'd suggest you add wood species names to your website offerings. This avoids world trade name confusion...cheers...Larry

Hi Joel,
compared to Larry you are practically in my back yard, so I a big welcome from just across the North Sea.

Besides whatever I odd pieces of spruce and figured white woods I can find locally, you will be among my closest tonewood vendors. I have noticed before that shipping from to UK to here is quite resonable, so this is good news!

Anyway, I bet you can sell some wood to us luthiers, after all we like the stuff.

That would be Waddy Thomson, but you're probably right about the connection somewhere in the past.
