David retired the SSt's a long time ago since Tom Anderson created the Crowdster for him. They are a chambered solid body with acoustic bridge and saddle, acoustic strings and LR Baggs element pickup. Extremely nice playing and as loud as you want to be. I have buried drummers with mine.

I was lucky enough to see the David Crowder band recently and I was shocked at how the guy can rock!  He sorta looks like a wino who ust rambled off of the street, but when they start playing and singing, there is no doubt this guy is all business. By the way, they were the openers for Third Day.

In the video, he's playing a Chet Atkins SST. They're cool guitars. I used
to have one and used it for a semester in my university's jazz band.

Neat music. I met his brother, Steve, who lived here in town for a few years working as a youth pastor. Now in Boulder, starting a new church.

These are fine looking guitars, and the Crowdster is an amazing beauty.

Those were pretty nice guitars.  My son had one, may still have it.  They also made a Classical version of that guitar.  It, too, was pretty nice.  The early ones had individually adjustable pickups for each string.  It was very cool. I believe they changed to a single pickup after the first few years. You could change the balance of the guitar's sound across the strings.  They were pretty heavy though.  I'm sure someone else know more about them.

I'm not sure if anyone here has ever heard of Guitar College
(guitarcollege.com), but Rich was my teacher in college. I loved sitting
down with him every week and going out whenever he played in town. He
played both the steel string and nylon versions of the guitar and always
got a really cool modern jazz sound with them. With some overdrive, the
SST was really interesting.

Dave Matthews used to play one of the SST's, didn't he.  May still.

I wish I knew more about the construction and electronics of that cool guitfiddle.

Crowder just cracks me up. If I went to town with my hair looking like that they'd roll up the sidewalks around here.   

The boy can sing and play and just looks like he's having a great time. Came out with a Guitar Hero Gizmo Guitar in one set and it was funny as all get out, but was truly good music too.

More talent in his little finger......
