I replaced a set of tuners today. The old ones were so creaky, so difficult to turn, so frustrating to use that I was moved to immortalize them through art. They now hang on the wall of my shop, a better place than any guitar. |

Turns out there was another angry spirit inside those tuners: |

I'm betting on the fact you'll be prying those screws off that art to fix a guitar. Hey, did anyone ever tell you you're nuts? Lex, it's good to see you are staying out of trouble! |

If you mount an old tuner on a caul, you can use it with a ball end steel string to through clamp repair cleats. Use a number drill the same size as a high E string to drill through the side (or whatever) & the cleat, run the string through from the inside & crank it snug with the tuner / caul assembly. Not as cute as the ticked off gearhead plaques though! |

Hey, no fair. That top one looks like my guitar's headstock, tuners and all! |
