Hi everyone, I would like to purchase one of those beautiful "laminate-style" Watkins necks from an OLF member if anyone has one that they would be willing to part with! I would be building an SJ (25.4" scale length), bolt-on style neck. Thanks everyone! |

Peter, would you be interested in a mahogany neck with maple/walnut/ maple laminates? |

I have a maple with two 1/4" walnut stripes. Bolt on |

Thanks, af_one, I actually plan to build the sides out of rosewood, and therefore would prefer a darker colored neck. Thank you for your reply, nonetheless! |

I have plenty of necks, I'm just looking for Watkins. Hopefully he'll get caught up and come out to play. |
Peter, would you be interested in a mahogany neck with maple/walnut/ maple laminates?
James, This sounds sweet! I was particularly looking for a rosewood center strip, but the walnut would look great as well I think. Do you have the general specs of the neck, and maybe a general description of the width of the laminates (or a simple picture)? - to make sure it'll be a good fit for the build. Thanks again, James! |

I feel quite lucky that James has a neck available that should work for a dark-bodied guitar. If anyone else has one that they would be willing to part with, I'd probably jump at the opportunity. Thanks again, everyone. |

I am down to two necks and certainly hope that Watkins has started catching up. The thought of going back to making them myself (one of my least favorite tasks) is not a pleasant thought. I have become spoiled. Mike White Oak, Texas |

Yeah, Mike; they seem really nice. This is my first build, and I am figuring to spoil myself from the start |

Thanks for the nice comments, guys. I'm glad you like the stuff. It won't be long now until I'm back. I have a new, 3,000 sq. ft. shop back in the Chicagoland area that I'll be operating out of starting in a couple of weeks. I cut 734 inlays in the last week and now I just have a couple of small jobs left to finish before I can move (Hesh and OLF #2). Look for the store to re-open mid-January. Thanks to everyone for their patience. |

Hesh, it's better than another type of job I could have called you. :) Mayes definitely gets the Patience of a Saint Award for this year. I hope all that stuff is working well for you, John. |
