Please PM me if you have any leads, I'm not looking for anyting in particular, just something that strikes me.

You know, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a "for sale" section of completed instruments made by OLF members. It wouldn't even have to contain photos, just a description and contact information should someone want to inquire about it.

I'm sure there's some kind of issue with that, without a doubt...but I do think it would be a nice touch.

Just sold the OM I've had on the site for a year! I'm sure someone here has your fix!

The only problem I can forsee posting finished guitars is the POSSIBLE problem of bidding war outcome and some dissatisfied members.

The Mandolin Cafe web site has a classifieds section, and they have a system that seems to work for this. I'm sure this involves some extra work (and hassle) for the moderators though.

that would be great if this site provided a means to sell instruments...especially if it had something to help us newer folks...!

we don't really want to do this.

This will upset the mix. Right now it is pretty much exclusive builders/repair. If players start entering our little world in droves people will be a little less casual when they think that potential customers might be lurking.

sure... they "could" be here now, but they are probably not here in any significant numbers.

Lance and I are working on a project that (among other things) could turn into a platform for selling and promoting your work. It will ultimately incorporate some of the old Luthiers Showcase ideas we were working on a few years back.

I don't want to go too far into it yet, but something like this is in the works, we just don't see it flying under the OLF flag.
