Bummer, I know they worked on this case too to get it right. Maybe they went back to the first set of plans?

I got a chuckle at my old job. They'd gone back to a set of student drawn plans from a previous year. Those headers for the closets sure looked funny at 6'0", which was a typo for 6'8", the industry standard door.

Stuff happens.

I have made 3 OLF SJ's and they all have fit nicely into Ameritage cases. It is tight, but not so tight that I'd ever be worried about the finish.

Ameritage cases are pretty snug.

Nope the Original was actually their standard AME-32 It is for a longer body. It was never too tight.

Todd:
The Model # for a fitted OLF SJ AME-32OLF. I have them build them to custom interior and exterior fabric specs for me. I have 9 in clients hands and 4 More in stock all fit perfect.

I sent them the body form they use. I suppose it is possible the foam could be over thickness or out of spec on one now and then

As long as the foam is not noticeable compressing I would not worry too much as the foam has memory and will settle in to the shape over a short time frame.

I have heard that a very snug fit is better if you ever trust the guitar to a public carrier. If the guitar moves in the case even a little, it is supposedly more susecptible to neck damage. No personal experience, though.

My Ameritage cases fit better than the Cedar Creek I used to get but I send the tracing 1/4 inch oversize just in case.

One thing I have noticed. My case use crushed velvet interior instead of the standard plush (hairy looking stuff) that comes in the retail market Ameritage cases.
I notice that the guitar slides into the case easier with the crushed velvet even with a tight fit.

1/4" oversize?!?  May as well not use a case...

Most of the protection of a good case comes from a tight fit. Whe n dropped, the case dissipates the impacts' energy, protecting the guitar from any direct energy; if the guitar can move inside the case, there is a second impact, and that is the guitar impacting the interior of the case. Therefor, the guitar still must dissipate direct energy on its own.  Same as wearing a loose seatbelt or wearing a I'll fitting helmet won't do a dang thing in a big wreck.

If I had a mechanical scale nearby, I'd measure how many pounds of force it takes to set my guitars in their Calton cases, but it's over ten pounds, I would bet. A hand gently pushes at the tail block, while the other holds the neck, up close to the body joint. Once in there, I can carry them around with the lid open and nothing budges. I wouldn't fly with any looser of a fit...

I assume that by the time y'all are spending enough for a Ameritage case, you are seeking better protection or a better fit than you would get from a double-arched, 5 ply TKL that costs 1/4 as much, right? Now, if you order it for a nice loose fit, you've tossed all that away, and all you have is a pretty, and expensive, case that offers little  real-world protection.

The TKL cases I have gotten for my 18" archtops are very snug, but they "break-in" as the guitar is taken in and out-the foam and fabric compress a little.

This may be slightly off topic, but how long does it take to get your cases after ameritage ships them? Mine are supposed to be shipped this week and I am getting tight on delivery dates to the customers.

There is two shipping dates. First from the plant to the warehousein the states and then from the warehouse to you. My orders tend to get to me with in 10 days fro leaving the plant or 2-3 days from the time they get to the states side warehouse
