Thanks for making that so easy to follow, Steve. Unfortunately you'd need to get an entire layup of the b/w/b purflings |

Hey Steve, From Gurian's website "We have a $200 minimum order AND a "Single Lay-Up" or "Board" minimum. All of our orders of binding and purfling are based on the cutting of a 5 3/4" to 6" wide laminate, veneer, or board, called a "Lay-Up". We require that you purchase the entire "Lay-up". The yield of a given lay-up is dependent on the width (or height) to which the binding or purfling is cut" For purfling like BWB 10/15/10, it's about 75 pieces. |

Thanks Greg! I suppose the next question is anyone else interested in B/W/B purfling of these dimensions? I could up my quantity to 16 but that would still leave ~60 for a 'lay-up." Or, I could get them form SM or LMI or Allied...... |
Or, I could get them form SM or LMI or Allied......
Steve- You've got the situation described pretty clearly there. I did a Gurian 'group buy' last summer- the result for me was ordering more of everything than I needed, so that I could 'save' a lot of money. It seemed a convincing argument at the time! Here's the way it goes- 20 strips from LMI for $38 or 80 strips from Gurian for $56.... And you can get any widths you want(like 10/15/10) when you order from Gurian. Happy 'strategizing'! Cheers John |

Well....... I could buy the whole layup and then sell the rest at the next swap meet!!!! Or, I can make my own from the colored fiber sheets I bought from Shane during the swap meet. I just need some white fiber. So, James, I will recalculate without the wbw and send you the paypal. Thanks! |
