Fingerpickers use different nut widths. What is your/their determining factors to decide to also widen the spring spacing at the bridge. What spacings are commonly used if the nut spacing is made wider? |

Seems most everyone that I have built for has known what they prefer at the Nut AND Saddle. That said, a pretty common spacing is 1 11/16ths / 2 1/8th or for a bit more space, 1 3/4 nut & 2 1/4 saddle. This seems to be the most requested for those that I build for. I have had two people as for 1 7/8ths Nut and 2 3/8ths saddle. I could not play these guitars, the spacing was just to wide. |

ditto on the 1.750 nut and 2.250 saddle spacing. That is most requested and pretty comfortable for many folks, but I've been seeing a lot of 1.8125 for nut widths lately too. |
