Ill be picking this one up tomorrow! Cant wait!
It is my typicle LS Redwood/Cocobolo combo, Koa appoitments. Ebony Fretboard, overlay and back strap.
This one also has a KK pick up installed.
I feel like I have kinda dialed in this combo tonewise

Lance,

What a gorgeous guitar! That is just stunning. Between you and Hesh I am almost convinced to have Tony shoot my next guitar. It will also be cocobolo b&s.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Another beauty, Lance!!!

BTW after all the Coco you have used, any allergic reaction? What precautions are you taking?

Thanks JJ,
None yet. I have used just a paper mask up until about six months ago. Since then I have been using a full respirator. Just trying to be a little safer.

I do admit tho to wearing short sleve shirts.

Another beaut Lance! So, how many of these Coco/LS guitars have you built now. It's a very popular model for you I've noticed. Man, I love those tops

Yeah Lance you are a little late for my birthday but I'll take it anyway

It's BEAUTIFUL and should be a great sounding guitar.  And with that KK you can use your wah-wah pedal now....

Regarding the bridge patch not being taped off - what is the plan now, do you chisel off the finish or route it off?

Superb work as always buddy!

Thanks Hesh,
I use a dremel to cut the lacqure off.
My one attempt at masking off the bridge ended in refinishing the top
Turns out my little cocobolo 0-12 was a 24.9 NOT a 25.4.
Go figure!

Yea, the koa is such a killer in any application. Such a nice simple rosette, too. Lovely.

Lance, between you, Hesh and K. Bros East, I find myself not only in good company, but a bit underdressed!
Very elegant look you are achieving there, amigo.
Beautiful guitar!

Lance, that coco looks killer especially with the choice of bindings!

This week has been quite a show of white room shots! All we are missing is one of Andy's.

Lance,
Beautiful.
Do you ever try to tone down Coco with perhaps a bit too much green. What do you do?

I am always in a quandary of what bindings for highly figured/colored woods. My thinking tends to solids but it appears that you have transcended that thinking. What combos have you used-or plan to use using high figure bindings and B/S?

Author:  LanceK [ Fri Nov 09, 2007 11:52 pm ]
Post subject:

Bob, I tend to agree with your thinking, I like to use solid color, or less figured bindings on woods that are busy.
Here is the last guitar I did in cocobolo (also with an LS top) It has Brazilian rosewood bindings. My eye likes this look better. The Koa try to compete with the coco on the above guitar. That said, it was my customers choice. And my customers are always right

I guess you missed my question Lance.I was just wondering how many of the Coco/LS guitars you have built so far?
How many guitars have you built total ?? Just curious here.
Thanks

Sorry Dave

I think this is #6 with an LS top and 7 total with redwood tops.
