Frank McCourt has a new semi-children's book releasing on Tuesday, and I can't wait. He's the Pulitzer Prize winning author of Angela's Ashes, Teacher Man, and 'Tis. Teacher Man might be my favorite book. Absolutely hilarious, insightful, and fist-pump-in-the-air inducing at the same time. This will be a 42 page illustrated picture book called Angela and the Baby Jesus (not religous). Check out the description: The six year old Angela looks at the naked baby Jesus in her local church in Limerick, Ireland, circa 1912, and thinks he looks cold. She wonders why his mother, or one of the shephards, doesn't put a blanket over him. She decides to take him to her bedroom and wrap him in her own blanket. The journey home is a bit difficult and when the disappearance is discovered, the whole parish is very, very upset. But Angela does carry the baby back to church, and all turns out well. |

Woah, I don't know what just happened. I started a thread called "Angela and the Baby . . . " But I did see Wilco tonight, Heath. I'm not an Austin City Limits regular, so it was a neat surprise. Their style isn't for me, but it was great hearing all those guitars. Can you imagine the job their tech must have before each show? |

did anyone else catch wilco on austin city limits tonight? wow. that was one of my all-time favorite performances. i kept trying to figure out what kind of guitar front man jeff tweedy was playing. i saw a "B" on the headstock of his 000-12 and kept going through all of the "B" luthiers i could think of. turns out, its a breedlove. anyways, i just thought it was a great show. lead guitarist nels cline has great style. if you didnt catch it tonight, pbs usually plays a re-run or two. |

I usually try to catch ACL, but I did miss this one Dang it! It sounds like a great show. I'm always looking at the bands gear first,seeing what guitars they play,what amps and so on. I haven't heard that much of Wilco .Think I'll go check YouTube for them! thanks Heath |

Is this a new one, or a repeat from when they were on before? My Tivo's set to record it, so I guess I'll find out. I love Wilco, I've seen them live a few times, incredibly tight band. Nels is an amazing guitarist, always looks like he's having a great time playing. It's kind of funny how their music is everywhere all of a sudden on TV shows and commercials these last few months since Sky Blue Sky came out. Jeff's solo shows are good, too, check out the Sunken Treasure dvd if you can find it. |

I caught about thirty minutes of it and enjoyed it. I haven't listened to much Wilco, but like what I heard last night. I'm listeneing more to the Texas 'red dirt' music scene right now -- Mickey and the Motorcars, Reckless Kelly, Cross Canadian Ragweed, etc. |
