There is no reason to share this other than the fact that this is just a profoundly sad story, and it is one of those moments that jolts life into perspective and shows you what is important.

I went to a memorial service for a 6 y.o. boy today. The lady I set across from at the office was in a car accident over the weekend and her six year old son died (the rest of the family was not substantially hurt). They were going to an air show on a Sunday afternoon.

I have been to my share of funerals and experienced the sadness that brings.... but this went to a whole new place.

.. it just makes you want to go home and hug your kids.

Wow,

Sorry to hear that Brock. We have some friends who recently lost their 6 year old son to a bad liver disease. It is certainly tragic when someone so young dies isn't it.

You are correct, it really makes you cherish your children that much more.

I am so sorry to hear that news. I can only imagine what that was like for you and the family. I am sure you were a great comfort.

I'm sorry you had to experience this Brock. I know how hard it can be to see a friend suffer and not be able to do anything about it. I cant immagine the pain felt by the loss of a child.

I had a massive heart attack at 38 years old. It changed my life forever because I know how short life really is. Every day is a gift, no matter how old one is.

Thanks for telling us about that Brock. Every now and then, we need a little wake-up call in life. Go hug your kids! Must call my parents today...

Thanks Brock, touching story. That family needs all the support friends, family, and co-workers can give.

My family lost a little brother at age six. My little buddy was gone. While now a sad memory, it brightens at the thought we had him for those fleeting six years.

I remember folks I didn't even know, coming, and just.... being there. It definitely helps.

Time will help heal the wound of this loss. Love will help remember the good times with this boy.

It`s hard to imagine my life without kids.I don`t think any thing else in the whole world would hurt as much as losing a child.        James

I'm sorry to hear the news. In my 'real life' job I have to deal with families
that lose loved ones on a fairly regular basis; it certainly makes you
appreciate your own family.
