Will the minis look okay on a headstock about the same size as a Martin headstock? It`s not a slothead.I wanted to try them out, and I was wondering if anyone had used them on a headstock of similar size? James |

James, I recently posted pics of these tuners on a ukulele. I think they would look fine on a Martin. http://www.luthiersforum.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=13350 #forumTop |

Ricardo,do you drill the same size holes in the headstock? I`ll check out that post. The headstock won`t be shaped like a Martin, just similar in size. Thanks James |

James I have used them on my headstock shape which is very similar in size to a Martin headstock. They look good, better than the full size Gotohs. Note however, that the gear ratio, at 16:1, is not as high (or is that low?) as the regular Gotohs. Mark |

Thanks Mark ,those are the tuners I`m talking about. I`ll give em a try.I don`t see how the slight differance in gear ratio would make much of a differance. Are the specs the same for the hole size to be drilled as regular Gotoh`s. Thanks James |

James, I use a 3/8" drill for the hole size. You'll still need to ream them out. Rich |

James I believe they do require the same size hole. I think 16:1 is plenty of gearing for standard scale length guitars. On guitars with scales shorter than 24.9, 18:1 or 21:1 works better. Mark |
