I have to admit that I was spellbound watching this video. I'm also sort of happy that at this point in my life my 'aspect ratio' is a bit too low! Prairie stock build does not equal good bird.

Pretty incredible. I wasn't impressed with the landing gear though. That thing can't be light. It took two of them to get it on the plane, and they seemed to be working pretty hard. Can you imagine hitting the ground at 35mph with that thing on your back? |

A modern renaissance man this guy. I'm sure the experience both thrilled him and scared him witless. The truth of the experience is whether he ever attempts it again. Spellbound is the word for watching, and imagining, what type of mind would do this. So, thanks a bunch for putting up the video. |

Man, if I wasn't married with kids I'd give it a go. I'd be just about stupid enough. Don't know if I'd do it sober. Back in the day, we'd get one of my hang gliders and a box of beer and then go looking for something to jump off. Sometimes it hurt, a lot. Hence the beer. |

It didnt look that unsafe to me. Freefall while parachuting can be up to 120 miles per hour before the chute is deployed. Safe height for deplayment of a safety chute if the main chute fails is 600 feet. It stated that his forward momentum was 100 miles per hour which means that his downward momentum was very low. That means that his ability to stay in the air was more controlled than an ultralight, at a safer speed, his harness that fastened in into the wing structure was separate from that of his parachute, so that if all else failed, he could ditched the wing and he still would have his parachute and safety chute. While it says that it is jet powered, because of the relatively low thrust of the mini-turbines, it was more a matter of jet assist as he would not have had enough thrust to takeoff with the turnines and the landing was a completely manual parachute landing, not much different than when an instructor straps a first timer in front of him to try out parachuting. |

Yea! I think it looks more dangerous than it is! I think it's just the simplicity of it. A wing "strap on" with 4 jet motors! Proves the point, you can make a brick fly with enough thrust!!
