Well It has been a while since I have done one of my "Yellow Rose of Texas inlays". A little ticked as after just minimal sand I went through most of the yellow on the rose Oh well!!. I will be inlaying the vine tonight and through tomorrow I imagine.

I have to blow the dust out good and do what ever filling necessary but it came out Ok But I will have to talk to Andy about the gold MOP being glold a little deeper

Michael, that looks great, even if you've lost a bit of the gold. And, you are a brave man inlaying into a light colored wood! Good job.

P.S. maybe you could experiment with some selective shading of the rose before you finish, or AS you finish?
I'm not too certain how to stain pearl, but I bet there are those here who do know!

A little history on this vine. I did the first one for my Granddaughter many moon ago. A client that knows my Goddaughter borrowed the guitar for a couple weeks and took it on a little mini tour with an evangelistic group across the country. Well I got 5 inquiries to inlay fretboards with this vine and the Texas flag peghead. I turned them down at first because this was my granddaughter's guitar. But she insisted that I make the vine available on my guitars. So I calld back the clients and commissioned 2. I had Andy DePaule cut the vine for me ans there are a lot of pieces. The roses are not etched they are individual pieces. I love the work Andy's crew does but this vine was a out of scale. I am not sure why as Andy has made several of these for me but this one is a bit off. There should be a rose or Rose bud one 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, (2) buds at the 12 and just leafs at the 15 and 17 nicely centered in each fret space. This one ea way off and I had to cut some additional bronze MOP stem to make it work The the client decided to add his name at the 12th. I guess I will send Andy a new temple and explain that this one was short.

Oh and these vines with peghead inlay are available for anyone to buy through DePaule but let me get with and and be sure they are cutting them to work properly with a 25.4" scale. like I said this one wwas about a 1/2" off over the full lenght before my new stem pieces were added to make the roses fall in the right place.

Bruce, when did you live in Lubbock? I like that area.
