I've been looking for some Cocobolo with nice dark lines in it for a
customer and wondered of anyone has a line on some.

I thought I'd mention here that the guitar that I'd built for the trip to
Africa last July looks like it will be heading to a new home....in Tokyo.
Nobody in the States seemed interested so it may end up overseas, but
the proceeds will land in Africa to help the kids there.

Thanks again to all who helped out with that project and sorry that it
had to sit for me to be able to do a few small finish reapirs on it before it
could be offered for sale. It took a few god bumps while being passed
around in Africa and my shoulder prevented me from getting them
straightened out until recently.

I'll post some protraits of the guitar as soon as I get them ready and
before it goes anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any Cocobolo suggestions,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars

Kevin...when I was in Buffalo about a month ago, The Zootman had some straight-grained Coco billets that were scheduled for slicing. This is primo stuff that reminded me of old-growth BRW...lots of dark lines. In addition he also had a number of sets that were highly figured with dark lines as well.

Good luck!

I was looking for similar Coco for a special project. After checking out the pics on our sponsors sites (& not finding what I was after) I wrote Chris Herrod at LMI & told him what I wanted. He dug through many sets to find one he assures me I'll love... Can't wait 'till it arrives.
Chris will go the extra mile if you ask for something specific.
Good luck eh? (That's Canadian for "Good Luck"!)

Talk to todd at allied, a few weeks ago he told me he was waiting for a new shipment in a few weeks... so that would mean that its on its way in any of these days, and allied has a pretty fair price too.
