Today, I peeled a new blade out of it's package, a Freud Diablo 7 1/4 inch framing blade with 24 carbide teeth. Got it off Amazon.com.

This blade was recommended by an olfer way back when.

Back then, I ran out and bought what I could find. A Freud Remodeling carbide blade 7 1/4 for use on my table saw. IT had 14 teeth and stated thin kerf.

The idea was a thin kerf blade to keep from eating up precious real estate when cutting braces.

While the remodeling blade states thin kerf it is actually .095". The diablo falls in at a mere .055". A difference worth noting.

It's also easy to see the differences in the two blades, the remodel blade is actually tilted back from the radius say ten degrees. The Diablo however had a forward tilt of say 20 degrees, much more agressive. Both have the anti-kickback knob following the tooth.

Just wanted to say, I had the wrong blade and that the Diablo feels great in hand, can't wait to use it.

DIABLO isn't that Spanish for Devil?

Bruce that's the Grumpy guy's favorite blade. He's been recommending it for a long time.

Yeah, I picked up one from Home Depot after Grumpy raved about it. Doesn't feel right buying such a cheap blade till you actually use it. Nice smooth cut.

Hmmm...I'm in need of a new blade. Might go check it out. I remember Grumpy saying this now that you mention it. Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah it was Grumpio that reccomended it.

I was just shocked at how much thinner it felt than the other Freud. Cuts like the devil.

Not certain, but didn't Mario use the 40 tooth Diablo's? I have both...

I think 40 is what I was using, but I'm not home to check.

Nah, he was using the cheapos.

This 24 tooth .055" Diablo Freud cost 9 bucks and change. I had something else in the works at Amazon, so I included that blade since I could never find it locally. We live in Rural Arkansas, the sticks and even though we have a Lowe's and WalMart, no diablos....

I have both and the 40 tooth stays on my tablesaw most of the time. It definately gives a smoother cut than the 24 tooth blade does.

Thanks again Mario!!!

Oh yeah, it's only a couple bucks more for the 40 tooth blade. Well worth it in my opinion.

$14.30 is still cheap in my book... I think I paid less than that at Home Depot.

I use the 40 tooth narrow kerf Diablo too. My saw is an older British Wadkin cabinet saw, similar to a Unisaw, with a 3hp / 3 phase motor. I upgraded it with a professional Biesmeyer fence, tuned it pretty much like this, and now with the Diablo blade this saw is a true joy to use. Recommended!

I keep both the 24 and 40 on hand.

Great little blades, eh?

It's the best blade for this work I've found as well. The thin kerf wins the day......cheap too!
