Apparently while installing the frets, I hit the fingerboard a couple of times. This wasn't noticable until I oiled the fingerboard so now I'm wondering if any of you could give me suggestions on how to repair these dings. It's an Ebony Fingerboard and the frets are in. An alternative that I'm thinking of is to just try to remove the oil and leave it with a dull look. Any tips would be appreciated. |

You can probably steam them out. |

I noticed when I use the metal side instead of the plastic side of my hammer, this just happens. Were you using the plastic or metal side of the hammer? A drop of water left in the dent too may work. Don't get sand happy, give it some time to swell. |

Thanks to both of you. Bruce, yes I was using the metal side of the hammer as well. I'll try both the water and steam methods and see if one will work. Makes me think that I should invest in the fret press caul now to make things easy.... Thanks again! |
