I have an electric question if you don't mind. I'm still in the planning stage but have acquired all the parts, I hope. I'm building something based on the CS-336 and plan to use the Gotoh tune-o-matic bridge and stop tail piece, both mounted with the heavy posts. My problem is this: The bridge and tail piece have a much greater radius on the bottom side than my guitar top will have. The top thickness is only about 1/8" less at the edges than at its thickest point. What are my options, assuming the bridge and tail piece should make contact all across the bottom? Do I just have to put more radius in the top in that area, or put the posts deeper and shape the top just under the bridge and tail piece, or do I just need to find another bridge with a flat (or flatter) bottom? Usually, the bridge and stop tailpiece are not in contact with the top of the instrument. They are in contact only with the shoulder of the posts that are adjustable in height. |

Ron, Love to see your pictures of the CS 336 and how you built it one of these days. I have a Gibson version I love but I might try to make one also. |
