Those of you using blued spring steel, how thick are your slats?

I believe most people use .010" or .012" I like .08" for the bottom of my sandwich and .040" between the wood and blanket but I like to use .012" on the outside between the press cauls and the blanket. Yes I use 3 per sandwich.

    I use .o15 , they are heavy enough to support the wood if it tries to move . Also it helps to add "thermal mass" for more consistent heat.
    I tried alot of different sizes from . ,040 and .080 are very heavy and won't get into tight curves. Are you sure they are so think?

John you are right I doubt you could bend .040" arond a telephone pole smoothly I meant .004" and .008" mis place in the decmal. I like thin. 008" on the bottom and the .004 between the blanket is just a seperator.

Mine are whatever thickness John Hall sells. I figured that a man that bends that many sides knows the right thickness steel to use, so just bought them from him. Work perfectly.

I don't believe in reinventing the wheel.
