By cutting the end graft channel first, if there's a little blowout, it's of no consequence, because the binding channel will be cut next.. Also, by routing te binding channel -through- the glued-in end graft itself, we have a perfectly seamless joint. I appreciate that a lot of you put reasons and even the actual process that you use to do the end graft.

It adds a lot more value to this thread.

I also do mine with a back saw and a chisel...
