I am just getting started on a 12 fret size 0, 24.9" scale based on a tracing I got from John Hall.  I have all of the dimensions I need except for the location of the soundhole.  Is there someone out there that could provide me the a measurement from the neck joint to the center of the soundhole.

Thanks in advance!

I might mention that the tracing is of a Martin size 0.

David-
It would probably save you some time and worrying if you just drew out a 24.9 fingerboard (get the wfret.exe program from MIMF?) on paper/cardboard and worked it out on paper for yourself.
You need to figure out how you want the fingerboard end to 'look' (how much of the rosette will it cover, will the end be straight or curved, etc) and how many frets you want (19?) in all. You don't want a little sliver of fingerboard after the last fret...anyway you can figure it out pretty quickly with paper and pencil.
Or give John a call- he'll have a number for you...

Cheers
John

The hole layout is based on the scale length in this case 24.9. If you know where the end of the fretboard is , ad 1/8 inch , this is the outside of the circle. An 0 is I think 3 5/8" but don't hold me to it as I am going off my memory but this will get you pretty close

No worries here.  I just thought there would be a 'standard' distance based on scale that Martin used.  I was planning on doing as both of you mentioned, base it on the end of my fretboard if there was no definitive measurement.  I was just thinking there might be a typical location to use.

Thanks!
