I am going to build an integrated lute hole cover and rosette with a mountain scene. The client has family that are artists and have a nice design that I will start on very soon. I'm curious if anyone knows how these removable lute hole covers stay in place. I will of course show progress of the project.

He says he has some sort of resilient gasket, whatever that is.  Seems like anything too soft would deaden the top.  Also, don't they have a significant impact on sound due to the sound hole becoming lots of little sound holes?  I think I read that recently in the thread on multiple sound holes.
