I have a couple of questions about using fiber sheets in laminations:

1. Are they strong enough to hold together as part of neck
laminations and body laminations (for electric guitar).

2. Do you think their being less dense than wood will
lessen the sustain significantly when used in
    laminations.

Thanks, Hesh
I knew folks were using them, just curious to know if everyone thought they were structurally and tonally sound. I am planning to use them in the body of my first electric, unless someone can convince me it is unsound.

Where do you guys buy your laminations? And what do you use to cut and plane them?

I carry sheets in blue, green, maple, red and black I think...another of those things that I may not have up on the website yet . They are all .020. I also have b/w/b in sheets, they are all 6" x 36" I think.

Ron,
I would use fiber laminations if I had too but my first choice would be maple or other type of veneer.... maybe dyed.

I've used black fiber laminated into a bass body with a bird's eye maple top and a swamp ash main body. It worked just fine. Also, the density on that stuff is pretty high.
