Taylor unveils its first-ever electric guitar. The music industry's biggest U.S. tradeshow was the scene for one of our most anticipated product launches ever. This past January, the T5 Thinline Fiveway™ made its world debut at Winter NAMM '05 in Anaheim, California before thousands of excited attendees. Those lucky enough to play a T5 had nothing but praise. Several guitar magazine writers said the T5 was the most exciting new instrument at the show this year. One prominent guitar retailer commented that the T5 was one of the most significant innovations in the electric guitar in the last 30 years. At the show, visitors had a chance to demo the T5 and catch live T5 performances from cool artists like Switchfoot, Jason Mraz, and Story of the Year, all of whom were blown away by the new axe. The NAMM show isn't open to the general public, but Taylor Insiders get an exclusive first look at the performances and all the fun, before it hits our website.

It is definitely cool looking...

Is the top arched? At first glance it looks like it, but I am not as sure when I look at the bridge.

Don't think so, go to the link above, there is a Koa one and it looks really flat.

T5 link, or here:

It appears to be a thinline hollow body.

It is, methinks. Looks like a hybrid piezo/mag system, possibly similar to the one PUTW has put together. Personally, I'd be interested if I mostly played large, noisy venues plugged in. But I'd really rather have a real acoustic strapped to me. This is an entirely different animal.
