I know nothing about computers, or forums. I bought an iPad today, and tried to sign in. It will not work with my password. My Mac is always signed in. My Kindle isn't, but I can tap it, to get signed in. Lately, my name and another shows up. I tap on my name and it works, tap to use saved password and I'm logged in.

It didn't work today on the Kindle after trying to log in a few times on the iPad. I wanted to try the password, and when I typed in the password, it wouldn't work. I tried to change my password, but they say that my old password is not correct.

So the password was changed, and someone's name is there.

Will this even show up?

I sent a PM to Lance, maybe try email?

Ken

There's an issue with an expired "certificate" on the site right now. It won't do HTTPS. You might be able to login using just an http://luthiersforum.com

It’s been like this for several years.

Ken contact Lance, maybe click the exclamation mark on your own post so he can see your post.

Dave's right it's an expired certificate and it manifests differently on different devices. For me on Safari (Mac) I lose the ability to have my username and password automatically entered and I have to do it manually.

An expired certificate does not mean there is a problem or even a security risk. It's a certificate that site owners have to update from time to time and browsers are looking for current certificate credentials. There is a possibility, very remote though that someone could attempt to impersonate the OLF but most of us are so dang cheap God help them trying to sell us anything..... :) We're likely to go to school on their IP and make our own whatever it is.... :)

I told Lance about this when it first popped up a couple of years ago. No response.

I started having trouble with the site a few weeks ago, and right now, the SSL certificate has been expired for 24 days. SSL certificates are cheap and a standard part of securing a website; browsers will show security warnings without one.

It probably just needs to be set to auto-renew.

Mmmmm I haven't been able to log on with my iPad for several months.
Thought it was just me.

I mentioned it a week or so ago.

Have been able to bypass it and log in, but I don't like ignoring things like this.
