I learned so much from David Nichols. When I first started building, John Hall and I spent a week at Davids shop soaking up his knowledge of building and inlay. I spent a week with David for the next 2 summers and served at his appointment on the board of ASIA. You could have made a great reality show of David's shop and the eclectic staff and people who dropped by all day. From the daily single hand of doller poker with the UPS guy to the impromtu bluegrass jams, there was never a dull moment. I was privileged to have him appoint me for a term on the board of A.S.I.A. David had a great sense of humor and loved to play practical joked on those he cared about. He always answered the phone and never made me feel like I was asking a stupid question.

I will miss David and treasure the many great memories.
