Hi! I find this guitar to be quite intriguing, and would like to know if there is a good set of plans available to build a replica of the instrument. Thank you, Fred.

I don't know if there are any plans for that instrument. There is a very in depth article on Stradivari guitars here,
https://thedutchluthier.wordpress.com/2 ... tar-plans/
with links to a article that is even more in depth. That article has a small guitar made from the Stradivari paper guitar outlines of a guitar in G. I DID make that one, and i kept throwing off bridges; so it just hangs on the wall!

He does have a plan for a Stradivarius guitar in E; the 750. I don't have that one either. The plans that I do have are for Voboam guitars, that are almost 18 inches long, and 10 inches on the lower bout. I don't know how that relates to a Sabionari. I think the scale is somewhere around 670, maybe a little more; so it is good for a guitar in E. The Sabionari is 740. It will be a bigger instrument, strung up in D or C#.

edit
I was wrong, that's what you get for not getting the information yourself. It can be pitched in E. At A 415 you will have a .48mm string, at 5 kg of string tension. At 680 scale and 5 kg of tension, the string is .52mm. I just checked, and nylgut strings go down to .38mm. Whether THAT would hold up to that much tension, I don't know.

Niskanen lutes has the tension on a baroque guitar high string at 3.8kg. That seems low. That would give a .44 string.
