I couldn't stop watching this video. Guess there are many ways to make an instrument. No idea how they would hold up or sound.

I could not stop watching either! Especially their top bracing process.

In case someone wants to buy one, 3000 r is ~$35.

I saw a video of one of the Paracho luthiers routing binding channels sitting on the floor with the guitar in one hand and the laminate trimmer in the other.

Makes me wonder what the cost of materials is.

Yesterday I searched for over an hour for a short, 20 minute internet documentary of a Portuguese maker, an old man, who built guitars with nothing but handmade tools. He hand-sawed the top, back and sides with an old hand saw. He hammered the frets out of metal bars. His tools (and his workshop) were very meagre and primitive, but it was fascinating to watch someone with primitive handmade hand tools and a rasp, hand make a guitar from start to finish. I could not find the video, or the Folk Art website that produced it. It was a very good documentary. Sad that the AI search engines couldn't find it, but found everything you could buy with a credit card instead. His instruments are collector's items now, according to the website that produced these maker videos.

Karl,

I had also been looking for a similar video article that I have not been able to find in years. This story was about a man from the Philippines who lived out in the jungle. He only used hand tools. This included hand sawing all his wood. It was amazing to watch. Brings a whole new experience to “I built it from a pile of wood.”
