Hey Buddy - I could never find a reliable source either so I had mine made and while I was at it I had them made to be 3 degree which is a very slight improvement on keeping the bridge plate safe and sound. The guy who made mine did them nearly 20 years ago and he was an OLFer and I have not seen him here in a long time. I had mine made in African Blackwood and BRW. 5 degree are fine too and StewMac has those but not in bulk. Maybe contact StewMac and see if they would give you a deal on a bulk buy? |

There’s nothing wrong or hard about doing a special order with Gurian. Their minimum order used to be a gross of pins. I forget what I paid when I had a couple of gross made, but it wasn’t much and it solved my pin sourcing problems for a long time. I had them make 3 degree unslotted pins and sent them the Persimmon to make them with. They used a very small quantity of wood. It’s nice to be able to reach into the little parts drawer and pull out 6 pins ( I can feel the count with my fingers) as I complete a guitar. |
