I just cut the top and back channels for bindings and purflings with the LuthierTool unit. Because of the size of the bearing wheel, it didn’t fit entirely into the cutaway area, so the channels are not wide enough.

Unlike other areas where I will just use a file, that won’t work on the inside curved area.

I could maybe try a curved piece of emery board.

Or maybe a gramil followed by perhaps a chisel.

Anyone been down this road with a good option?

I've used a short section of kerfed lining with adhesive-backed sandpaper on the back/webbing side to do something similar. The kerfed lining is flexible enough to conform to either inside or outside curves. How much wood do you need to remove to get to the target depth?

I have used a gramil and a chisel to cut a binding ledge where I couldn’t reach with a router. I did the chiseling much like you would mortise a door hinge making close cuts across the grain and doing several shallow passes of that to get to depth. The gramil marked and defined the outer edges of the cuts. I imagine one could do a whole guitar that way but it would take a while.
