My attempt to do a sunburst finish got screwed up . So I sanded off as much as I could but some of it was into the grain. I decided to spray it vintage white which is opaque. The Stew Mac techie told me it would cover. It did cover but when I went to level it after 9 clear coats a bunch of yellow spots are showing up. So the question is do I sand it all off and shoot for a darker color or just spray a metallic opaque color right over the white. It,s a veneered top so I don’t want to sand thru the veneer. That’s why I want to just spray over the white. The white looked really good but oh well . Any help will be appreciated.

We need more information, and a couple photos might help.
