Post subject:  Where do you get your unslotted bridge pins from
Well? Where?

Not necessarily looking for bulk but options with dots, black, white and so on. These days I prefer plastic pins. Elderly seems to have the best deals on sets but I don't need endpins.

I was turning mine (not very efficient—you turn a whole bunch and then pick six at a time that match) when I met Michael Gurian—he told me his machine could make them, one every 7 seconds. I sent him a block of persimmon and he sent me back two gross of pins for not very much money. The price of couple of dozen retail sets can buy a lifetime supply of custom pins. I’m still turning endpins, but I probably should have paid him to do those as well.

I had mine made for me 3 degree, unslotted BRW, African Blackwood. They were made for me by an OLFer who I have not seen active here in maybe ten years now so I don't want to drop the name not knowing if he wants me to or not. I used to send him blocks of wood and get beautiful pins back. All my guitars have 3 degree, unslotted pins and I slotted the bridge, top and plate just like they did before the cheap, plastic, slotted bridge pin was invented.

Same thing. Was semi laboriously turning pins on my Taig lathe but decided Michael's skill was way higher and quicker than mine. :)

Waverly pins from Stew Mac. Same material as Antique Acoustics (Galalith).

I do like the Waverly pins but they are not cheap too.

I don't think he's on OLF if that's what you mean. I get 3° unslotted bone pins with black dot from him. The pins are very consistent. Not cheap but not crazy expensive.
