I bought all the tools and supplies from a shop in the PNW that was going out of business. It was back in 2016 or so. I still use a lot of the tools that came from that haul. Occasionally I’ll come across something I stuffed in a cabinet back then. Today I found this thing. It’s an adjustable radius beam. A lot of the tools came from LMI. Anyone know the history of this one? Brad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Don’t know who made it but it’s kind of cool. |

Very cool. I have seem shop-made versions of this made of uhmw plastic with small turnbuckles to provide the push/pull for different radii Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I remember seeing those offered for sale, but really can't remember who had them. LMI would seem to be a likely suspect though. Dave |

I’m pretty sure LMI sold them in the 1990s. I don’t know who made them for LMI. |

I have a shorter version. I didn't know there was a longer one. Yes LMI sold it. Don't know who made it. They also sold convex templates that you used to set it. Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk |

A few minutes internet searching and I found this DIY one.. - Quote: Yes, I freely confess to having cribbed the idea from Tom Ribbecke and Quote: "I'd like to know LMI's reason for stopping the sale of the Ribbecke tool they once sold." https://www.mylespaul.com/threads/shop-made-adjustable-radius-sanding-block.328276/ |

Awesome. Thanks, Colin! It definitely seemed like it was manufactured and not shop made. It seems like something a repair shop would want in order to match whatever weird radius walks in the door. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

That's a really simple solution that looks like it would work well . Might get around to stealing that idea and building one ....someday . |
