Post subject:  ear bud tips

Not really guitar related, but sound related. The tips on my KZ ZSN-pro earbuds are done, one broke, and they were starting to fall off all the time. I did notice loss in sound, from not sealing well. Well sealed I was even hearing cymbals the other day listening to Yes. I can't find replacement silicone tips on their site.

Many of the replacement tips online are foam, not silicone; probably cheaper. Are they any good. I used foam ear plugs for a dozen years at the shop all day long; the long fat yellow ones. The skinny things are useless. I have tiny ears, but they are big on the inside!

Thanks
Ken

Well, I went with the foam ones. It seems you have to check the diameter of the posts on your buds. Mine are 5.5mm, so I found a set that works for 4-5.5mm. I'd rather have them tight there.
The blue Amazonian truck just came, and they work great. Better seal, doesn't feel floppy.
Listening to this:

That piece has a really warm sound. Testing something far more familiar, with piercing highs, and a lot of low end, only the drums seem like they could be crisper. They aren't bad though. Much better than the loose tips.

The next test will be after dinner; homemade chicken tortilla soup that smells good!

Will they stay in when I'm "Singing along with the r.....iPod."
