Ok, I'm trying to set up some things in G "Thang" But my drawings look nothing like a guitar. The lines aren't even connected ha. So a few questions: Upper bout: Primary arc radius ( should this be 0 because i make my upper bouts pretty flat?) Arc Center Point: what is that? Offset from neck end? secondary arc radius inc? It makes me feel silly, but I don't even know what these things are. If I had something to go off of it would help I suppose, like a known design. Is there a tutorial for this or am i kinda on my own? Thanks, B |

There is a detailed user manual built into the G Thang program. Click "Information" on the Help menu. |

Agreed, read the manual top to bottom, it's not super long. To see an example click File -> Initialize and choose one of the examples. I did a quick demo of the tool in a past roundtable meeting - https://youtu.be/ZYod-VcAJwA?si=eCayMe_zPxNa5SeR&t=3911 Skip to 1:05:00 for the demo. |

If you come up with a design you like and want to print it out full scale to use as a plan, I can send you instructions I wrote up a few years ago with R.M. Mottola's help. Basically, you have to export the design from “G” Thang to an AutoCAD file viewer program to convert to a pdf file. You can then take the pdf file on a thumb drive to a place like Kinkos that has a large format printer and get a full scale print made. I mount those print outs on poster board with spray adhesive and then cut out the body shape and draw in braces etc. |

Cool. Thanks for the information. For me it’s just a lot going in blind. The demo should help:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I like G Thang a lot. Once you get a feel for how it works, it's actually fun to use and rapidly try out ideas. A good place to start after an initial read through of the manual is to open one of the example designs Brad mentioned above and just start mucking around with the settings and see what happens. I think the program is pretty intuitive. |
