I haven't been able to get back to my guitar build for a while now. First it was my knee, I have an appt for an MRI soon. Then it was camping with the family and now we have a permanent new house guest, an old friend of my wife. We visited in Maine and brought her home with us. Her family just didn't have time for her what with raising two kids plus a very busy dental business. Anyway, we are glad to have her and now my wife has company while I'm at work. It's a win win situation. On top of that, I just got asked to do another pet portrait in watercolor, which I love doing.

I am not sure when I'll be able to squeeze in some time to get back to work in my basement. The closest I can get is reading this forum right now so keep on keeping on! I'm going to try to get down there tonight.

Good on you for doing all of that though!

Best of luck with the MRI, hope they get you some relief.

Hang in there Hutch.

It doesn't sound too bad. Sometimes doing different things for a while is a good thing. I've done watercolor, but I have some oil paints that are calling my name. I thought of doing some photos in black and white, and then painting them in color. The black and white would help with getting good light/dark contrast, as opposed to just differences in color. I think.

I have a Lamborghini Countach model that I can work on too. I'd like to get a small airbrush for it. I'd really like to make a 1/20 or so scale model from scratch of a Jaguar XKE, or Ferrari F40. But, I'd need a little mill to do that.

And THAT would take up a LOT of time.

My right knee was bad for months. MRI came up with tears, and pieces of stuff, and Bakers cyst. Now, 6 months later it isn't so bad. Sometimes I feel it move around, and cracking, and what feels like tendons bouncing around. But it isn't bad. We went to a huge car show in Frankenmuth Saturday. Over 2,000 cars, and walking around SLOW for hours, my feet, hips, and back were getting sore; but the knees were great! Probably dehydrated, even though it hasn't been warm.

I've been trying for days to get the replacement tailpiece for the 13" arch top made. Always something to do. Mostly enjoyable things, like car shows, and going to a sawmill; but the tailpiece is still not done. Tailpieces for arch tops are more challenging than ones for violins and cellos: The bridge is so low. The bottom has to fit the profile of the arching.

Enjoy what ever it is that the day gives you.

Ken
