Anybody else notice this? There have been six new posts in the last two days after no posts since October of 2019. Does anyone know if people who would like to join the forum and participate in discussions are still locked out and unable to do so? Hopefully that's been fixed because if not, this post from today is kind of ironic: Attachment: OLF FB post.jpg

Noticed as well and yes folks can now join. Craig could log in finally (only 11 months! ). I sent email to the folks who have reached out to me about being unable to access the site to tell them to try again. I also noticed the newest user is OLF Admin. Seems like Lance or someone appointed by Lance is making changes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

It's about time that got fixed. If you look at the members list sorted by most recent, there are 9 pages of new members all with zero posts before you get to one with a post back in May of 2022. Glad to hear that Craig can post now. |

Ugh, how many different places should we post the same thing. I like it here, I feel I somehow know the crew and enjoy my time here. Of course I'm on multiple FB groups and other forums but the majority of my posts go here. Should I change that? It's certainly a lot easier to post photos on Facebook. Would I still get the valuable feedback from the guys here that I have so much respect for? Ideally, I would post on FB and a copy would be here as well so that threads could be searched. I don't know if that works on FB. |

No need to post anything to Facebook, at least at this time. The forum is stand alone. The Facebook posts being mentioned are just one directional, from the OLF Facebook account to its followers. If you aren’t already following the page, do so here - https://www.facebook.com/luthiersforum. ... tid=2JQ9oc I’m not aware of integration between Facebook and standalone phpbb forums like this one where you can post once and replicate to all. Facebook lutheir groups are, in my opinion, more of a waste of time. There are too many strongly placed opinions by folks with not much experience. One good thing about Facebook is I can do some quick sleuthing about the person posting to see if they know what they are talking about. Sadly, it doesn’t often pan out. After just now going there, I see it's mostly a place for the forums advertisers. |

I saw an excellent forum website migrate to a FB page. The long-standing, knowledgeable folks on the forum didn't use the FB page where the newbies posted, forum traffic slowed down, and the website died a long, slow death. A FB page is a terrible place if you're interested in the accumulated knowledge from years of activity. I'd hate to see that happen to the OLF. |

Yea, I have no interest in using the OLF facebook page. I "followed" it years ago not long after joining this forum but never saw anything useful on it so I've looked at it only a handful of times since. I was curious about the sudden appearance of multiple notices of posts on the OLF facebook page over the past few days. I was kind of wondering if it got hacked. |

You will start to see more of me for better or worse. The whole account activation issue here has me bewildered, I have just recently removed the setting that requires me to approve it, hence we might see some spammers hit and run. I am considering opening the Classifieds as a no subscription needed, its just to buggy and has gotten progressive worse. Anyhow, that it for now. Hope you all have a great Saturday! Lance |
