Btw… it will be a 12.5 fretter so I can get the bridge where I want it in the small body

From the looks of this picture I use industrial strength hangers made for suspending bulldozers over circus tents
But in reality I use a mortis / tenon. 7/8 “

Ha! I was only going to point out the need for a fret to line up with the gap between the block and the tenon if you were dovetailing with a .5 join…

Nice looking fretboard!

Is that bound in Curly Maple? Can't quite tell from the pic.

Should be a great looking guitar.

Cheers,
Bob

Yes sir. Honestly it’s not my fav wood to bind with… hard to keep uniform thickness at the bends

Nice looking build! I like the different rosette, but I really like the fretboard. Bob beat me to it.

Beautiful Brandon!
I agree on the shape of the guitar, it's a favorite of mine too.
Great wood choices too. tanks for sharing

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Thanks man. Anytime I finish a guitar I’m always super harsh on the outcome I think. There are so many little things, and finishing is still an issue that frustrates me. I can build a great box but a bad finish just ruins it for me.
I need to do a lot of practice and research before my next one is ready

I hear you, finishing is a big challenge, I'm still working on that - only 16/17 in so far.

That finish looks great on the Cedar. Nice and silky. Well done.
