Well actually two plans.
The first is the Vihuela plan. I can't figure what is going on at the end of the TWO cross braces. That's it. It does go from 3.5 to 2mm or so thickness, so there is more going on.

The second is the same sort of thing on a Panormo.

I guess the glass on my bench needs to be replaced!
