I’d like to use some burl wood for some accents on the next few guitars i have planned… maybe end wedge, possibly headstock and or rosettes.., is there a good place to find burl that would work? I’ve looked eBay but im not sure if it’s the best for the dimensions I would have to have …
Thanks b

Assuming you can use veneer thickness, search eBay for "burl veneer" and you will find tons of stuff.

I highly recommend Tom Volpe at thinwoodsandoldtools on Squeebay. I've purchased a ton of veneer from him. Tom will work with you on shipping when you make sizable orders, and he often tosses in a few free veneers just for fun.

I’ve bought a bunch of veneer from veneersupplies.com.
I don’t think they have a minimum order size.

I've been using Manzanita burl for that. I've found several while brush clearing for wildfire protection on the property here. Just sold several slices at a community yard sale here for $3/piece. PM me if you're interested in some.

This is a perfectly timed post. I have three cherry burls and would be interested how to cut them. May even be able to seel some here. One is really big!

Here's some pics of the jig I use to slice up some of my local wood. It's ugly, crude and I keep telling myself to rebuilt it, but then another piece of wood comes along so I break it out again. It's worked for 36" logs to 6" burls for the first two cuts to establish 90 degree planes for further slicing. I have no idea where I got the clamp set. Maybe it's a beam clamp? The holes are mostly set on 2" centers but 1" would make for quicker setups. Both ends are anchored with the screws to prevent rotation of what's being cut. Use 1" carbide blade, 18" bandsaw.
