How thick is your bridge when you slot it? (Example: finished thickness- around 3/8", raw stock- 1/2" +, etc) Thanks. |

I slot mine before I cut it out of the blank at just a bit more than finished thickness which is usually around 3/8”. |

3/8 to 7/16. I drill the pin holes and route the slot, then taper the thickness from the back so the slot and holes are tilted back a few degrees, to counterbalance the forward rotation under string tension. |

I route the slot after the bridge is on the guitar. Started doing that after I started doing repairs and got used to it. My bridges are usually about 3/8" like most. |

3/8 + 1/32. The 1/32 gets sanded off when I match the bridge bottom to the top radius, for a 3/8” finished bridge… |

Wiggle room is always nice but I generally aim for a slightly thicker than 3/8th inch block before routing out. |

I think I’m the same as Ed. It’s all done on the CNC but the block is .400. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

As Steve mentioned I rout the slot after the bridge is glued to the top. Bridge thickness 5/16ths to 7/16ths inch. |
