Sorry for another wood ID thread. I got this some time back from a luthier. At the time I thought it was Sapele but now I’m not 100% sure. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Could be, figure and color is about right, the sapwood also looks to be appropriate color. Does it have a slight cedar-like scent while being worked/sanded? |

That looks a lot more like khaya than sapele to me. |

Yeah, probably sapele. Measure the density, it's a little heavier than most mahogany-looking woods. |
