Although the three T-75G turbine HVLP guns that we had been using in the shop for about a decade gave reliable service, at some point, they - like any well-used spray gun - eventually needed some TLC. The factory option, using a Fuji-authorized shop in NJ to clean and service, was never one that was successful - other than a solvent cleaning and quick check, nothing else in terms of a deep cleaning ever seemed to have been done. We eventually settled on cycling the spray guns through a shop in the Republic for service.

Phelps Refinishing in Palmview, TX is a dealer as well as a great place to get what the boys called the 'Full Monty' on strip, clean, reassemble, and test. This service was about $40 if I recall, with the guns cycled through the service, but checking the site this morning, cost is $50 plus any parts required, plus shipping.

I had a little job that needed doing recently and dropped by Greenridge after my hair appointment in Rockville to check on how the airplane work is progressing (lots of ribs and aluminum scraps) and shoot a couple of my own projects. The quid pro quo for shop use was a bit of inventory work and getting a few serviced items back into use (calibrated torque wrenches and rebuilt spray guns). After unboxing the two guns that had just been delivered the day before, I ran some 1 lb shellac and 70/30 Mohawk Classic through what was the oldest serving spray gun in the shop... just like new, if not a little better (upgraded cup and cap installed).

In any case, for those of us that are better off jobbing out this sort of thing, Mr. Phelps did a nice job of full ultrasonic cleaning and gun setup for well under what the boys are charging for a 1/2 hour of labor.

No relationship with Mr. Phelps other than as a satisfied customer.
